Our Holiday 2001 Greeting Card

December 2001

Had a great december. The ski season started with a bang on thanksgiving weekend and has been incredible ever since.I hung up the mountain bike on Saturday and started skiing on sunday. One quiet, snowy day, Rolf, Christine and I hiked up Neff's canyon and skiied what we all agreed was the best snow we've ever had the chance to slice our trusty skis through. That's why I'm still alive, for days like that.

Near Christmas I flew home to get together with my family. It was the first time I've flown since I started treatments for cancer. At home everyone started getting sick. Christine, Kathy, then mom. I was very excited because I felt great and thought that I was going to be fine...

Then I got sick on Christmas day. I've pretty much been sick ever since. Guess there's a nasty something or other going around and I'm not as tough as I used to be. The worst part about it is that I missed about a week of skiing. After that I've just been learning to deal with it. My immunities will build back up, with time.

Quote of the month

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart.
